Conil de la Frontera is a former fishing village, which has become a popular, low-rise resort. It has good beaches and the streets still have a village feel to them.
The authentic Spanish fishing town of Conil de la Frontera has approximately 16,000 inhabitants and is situated in the province of Cadiz,
in the autonomous community of Andalusia.
Conil is a small, lively beach town to the south of Cadiz, and near inland Vejer de la Frontera. It has a great atmosphere in the evening, with plenty of good tapas bars and excellent nightlife. It is a pretty, well-maintained town which is as ideal for a family stroll among the old streets, as for young people on a night out.
It has six beaches: Playa La Fontanilla, Playa El Roqueo (with a 1936 Civil War bunker), Playa Fuente del Gallo, Playa Punta Lejos, Playa Cala del Aceite and Playa los Bateles. Playa los Bateles is the longest and the most popular in the summer. Conil de la Frontera is primarily a vacation town and the most of the tourists are Spanish although you often also hear German as well in town.
Every Friday you can visit the little beachside market, which includes culture and history. The market includes lots of little trinkets and handmade clothes. The beach has volleyball nets and lots and lots of sand. The Beach is a nice place to go if you're wanting a vacation getaway
